Gatehouse App for Waste Receiving Sites

Our gatehouse app turns your site entrance into the point where compliance happens. Staff identify each vehicle, check the load against your permit, record the weight and photos, then accept, reject or quarantine it, so every receipt is ready for Defra before the lorry leaves.

How the Gatehouse App Works

Our gatehouse app puts the compliance check where it belongs: at the site entrance, before a load is tipped. Staff identify the vehicle, check it against what's expected, record the weight and photos, then accept, reject or quarantine the load, all from one screen.

Because every receipt is captured in full at the gate, the record is ready to connect to Defra's Receipt of Waste API without anyone re-entering details later in the office.

Identify, Check, Weigh, Accept

Vehicles are identified at the gate, by ANPR where it's in place or manually by gatehouse staff, and matched against the expected job. The weighbridge ticket is logged against that vehicle and load automatically where your weighbridge is integrated.

Staff then confirm the load matches the permit and paperwork before accepting it onto site, so problems are caught at the gate rather than discovered later.

Rejections and Quarantine

Not every load can be accepted. The app lets gatehouse staff reject a load outright or put it into quarantine for further checks, with photo evidence attached to the record so there's a clear reason on file for any decision made.

This protects your site from accepting waste that doesn't match what the customer declared, and gives you evidence if a dispute comes up later.

Permit and EWC Checks at the Gate

The app can check an incoming load against your site's permit conditions and the EWC code declared for the waste, flagging anything that falls outside what you're licensed to accept. Every EWC code shown must still be confirmed against the current List of Wastes, since the correct code depends on the actual waste received, not just what's on the paperwork.

Catching a mismatch at the gate, before the vehicle tips, is far simpler than untangling it after the fact.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, but it integrates with one if you have it. Weighbridge tickets can be logged against the vehicle and load automatically, or weights can be entered manually if you don't have weighbridge integration.
