Digital Waste Tracking for Liquid Waste Made Easy
Digital waste tracking for liquid waste doesn't have to mean more paperwork. Tanker operators empty septic tanks, cesspits and interceptors and discharge to treatment works, all of which now needs a digital record. We build a bespoke app around how your business works, so every job, weight and signature is captured once, digital waste transfer notes are sent automatically and your Defra records are submitted on time.
How Digital Waste Tracking for Liquid Waste Works
Tanker operators empty septic tanks, cesspits, interceptors and trade effluent tanks, then discharge at treatment works or specialist liquid waste sites. Every load is a waste movement, and the sites you discharge at are permitted receiving sites that now report what they receive.
Digital waste tracking for liquid waste means recording each job with its volume, waste type and discharge point. Our app is built for tanker work, measuring in cubic metres or litres and linking each collection to its discharge receipt.
Tanker Volumes and Discharge Points
Liquid waste is usually measured by volume rather than weighed. The app records the volume collected at each job, from the tanker gauge or an estimate, and the volume discharged at each treatment works or site. Where weight is required, it's converted using a density factor you set. Each discharge is linked to the jobs it came from.
Domestic and Commercial Emptying Rounds
Domestic septic tank and cesspit emptying is usually a mix of regular contracts and one-off calls, often in rural areas with poor signal. Commercial work includes interceptors, grease traps and trade effluent. The app plans both, works offline, holds access notes such as tank location, hose length and gate codes, and records photos of the tank and site.
Discharge Receipts from Treatment Works
When you discharge, the treatment works or site issues a receipt or ticket. The driver photographs it in the app, linking it to the load. You'll always have evidence that the waste went to an authorised discharge point, which is exactly what regulators look for.
When Septic Tank and Liquid Waste Tankers Must Comply
Septic tank and liquid waste tankers act as waste carriers, so they're planned for Phase 2, with mandatory use planned from October 2027. If you operate a permitted liquid waste treatment or transfer site, Phase 1 already applies to the waste it receives.
